Naida

1935 “Hollywood Classic” Bridgedeck Cruiser

Designed by Henry C. Grebe of the Great Lakes Shipping Company in Chicago, she was built by Morris Watkins of Hollywood California and was launched in 1935.

We are still trying to piece together her history, but we know she was moved from Olympia Washington to Chicago Illinois in 2018. Prior to that she had been in the Pacific North-West of the USA after moving up from King Harbor, Redondo Beach (Los Angeles).

She has been rumored to have been owned by Humphrey Bogart and spent many a night at Catalina Island and surrounds, but we have found no documented evidence of that. However; she appears to be identical (if not the exact same boat) to the “Lurabelle III” built for Legendary Hollywood special effects artist Vernon L. Walker.
